This is an exciting time to be working at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to more than 1.6 million people a year through our three main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm and Royal Free.

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for you to develop your skills from a band 5 to a band 6 Physiotherapist role within our welcoming, knowledgeable, and innovative team. Our department, which places clinical excellence, staff welfare and celebrating diversity at the heart of its decision-making is offering two band 5-6 development posts.

Main duties of the job

You will be supported by the whole, well-established MSK team, and in particular, Band 6 and 7 Staff. We have developed a robust In-Service training programme which will support your training, as well as a comprehensive portfolio to guide your learning. This will involve a variety of e-learning, peer and 1:1 supervision, independent learning and observed patient sessions. We also offer band 5 Preceptorship training, and the education team are soon to launch a preceptorship programme for experienced band 5s. The Band 5 to band 6 Development programme may take between 6 and 18 months to complete depending on prior knowledge, skill, and experience.

We work closely with Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners in a range of specialties, the Orthopaedic and Rheumatology teams, as well as the Hand therapy and Pelvic health teams. We deliver a variety of group sessions, and we have our own aquatic therapy pool. We are lucky to be supported by a dedicated therapies education team and an AHP research and development team.
