We are looking for a SCPHN School Nurse who wants to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative School Nurse to join our Healthy Together 0-19 Team.
Main duties of the job
As a School Nurse, you will provide professional leadership and direction to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the 0-19 Service.
You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions and proactive public health initiatives, working both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the family. Safeguarding will be an integral aspect of the role.
You will be an NMC registered nurse who holds a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nursing) qualification. You will have caseload management experience, along with previous experience of mentoring staff and/or supporting them through preceptorship.
You will possess strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to delegate and supervise staff, as well as the ability to recognise and escalate risk and contribute to control measures.
You must possess a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport.

Work with parents and young people to promote the physical, intellectual and social development of the 5-19 population, particularly those who are disadvantaged, to ensure that they are ready to thrive and achieve their best outcomes . Complete a comprehensive assess of the heath needs of clients, families and communities and facilitate the mobilisation of appropriate resources to meet identified needs.
Hold a caseload of families with school aged children and be responsible for effective caseload / workload management, providing specialist evidence based advice, information and support to the population served, team members and relevant agencies
Deliver the Healthy Child Programme to all school children and their families.
