Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Service to lead the operational laboratory service at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital. The laboratory is a centre of excellence across the 2 sites, for Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Haemostasis disorders, Clinical Biochemistry including Automation, Specialist metabolic and Immunochemistry services.
This is an exciting time to work at UHBW as part of the West of England network and the successful applicant can look forward to driving change and to make an impact on services in the future.
We will also be implementing new technology within the laboratory as part of the Managed Services Contract for the WoE network.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the operational management of the UHBW Laboratory Service across the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital.
The post holder will work with the Head of Service and Section Leads, across the range of laboratory services, to ensure operational targets are met.

- Experience of document management systems (e.g. Q-Pulse)

- Evidence of successful working with teams, including clinical and non-clinical staff
