We are seeking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the new East Midlands NHS Gambling Service. You will be responsible for providing cognitive behavioural therapy to individuals who are experience gambling harms.

The East Midlands NHS Gambling Harms Service will be based on a 'hub and spoke model' providing care and treatment interventions to individuals experiencing gambling harm throughout the East Midlands. A high proportion of the interventions will be through video consultation, however, face to face work will also be a treatment option and you will be required to meet the travel demands of the post throughout the East Midlands.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be able to work with teams as well as on your own initiative are essential.

Statutory regulated Core professional (OT / Psychologist /Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse) plus training in CBT Psychotherapy.

You will also be part of a supportive leadership team in the Addictions Directorate at Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality CBT interventions that are evidence based and meet the Trusts' Standards.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of working in Secondary Care Mental Health Service as a specialist Psychological Therapist / Mental Health Professional
  • Experience of working in a core mental health profession (e.g. psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology, psychiatry, social work or occupational therapy) or demonstrate equivalent experience


Desirable

  • Experience of working with patients with a gambling or addiction need


Skills

Essential

  • The ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, sensitive information to patients, their families, carers and other professionals


Desirable

  • Supervision competency


Qulaifications

Essential

  • Core health or social care professional qualification at degree level
  • BABCP Accredited Post-graduate qualification (Diploma / MSc) in Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapy or its equivalence
