Would you like a Permanent post opportunity within an established team, Then this is a great opportunity for you to co-lead a highly skilled team in the neuro rehabilitation unit alongside an array of MDT to support patient care.

Ward NRU is a 16 bedded vibrant ward specialising in Neuro rehabilitation We provide rehab care to patients who have brain injuries, brain conditions with the support from leading consultants and specialist Multidisciplinary team (MDT). We are an established team and although it is a very busy and demanding ward we work closely as a team and deal with the day to day pressures with positivity and high levels of energy. We love making a difference and working together as a close family to gain the rewards of making a patient's journey enjoyable and successful and are constantly seeking to improve our service to meet the diverse needs of our patients and their families.

In return for your commitment you will be able to experience a broad range of leadership and managerial strategies with access to a comprehensive package of leadership coaching, education and clinical support You will be fully support by our senior nursing and clinical team, matron, DND and divisional management team

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual to work within the neurorehabilitation unit manager with a genuine desire to look after neuro rehab patients. You should have a keen interest in providing high quality harm free, patient centred care in a busy, fast paced, ever changing and often challenging environment.

You will be a strong and compassionate leader able to work alongside and continue to grow our nursing team. It is essential that high standard and quality care is second nature to you whilst you promote kindness and collaborative working. You will jointly manage a team of approximately 48 staff and have the ability to support service developments.

You will have overall responsibility for the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relative and visitors who are cared for within their ward or department or by their team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oAppropriate NMC Registration
  • oMentorship qualification
  • oPost Registration Qualifications relevant to the role
  • oDiploma or Degree in Nursing
  • oSuccessful completion of/will to work towards a leadership and development programme (equivalent to the Internal Band 6 Leadership and Development programme).


Desirable

  • oLevel 4 ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) or equivalent


Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • oKnowledge of Clinical Governance and Safeguarding and the relevance of these to practice
  • oKnowledge of relevant policies and procedures
  • oKnowledge of ethical issues
  • oExperience of mentorship and ability to identify learning and development needs


Desirable

  • oExperience of managing a clinical area
  • oEvidence of working at Band 7
  • oExperience of budgetary management
