We are looking to recruit a Performance Manager within Oncology to support the Radiotherapy Department.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking individual to work with us in delivering high levels of service efficiency and effectiveness particularly working with the clinical teams.

You will have previous experience in hospital administration, line management skills and knowledge of current NHS policy and performance targets in relation to cancer.

Main duties of the job

You will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with a whole range of different personnel from across the organisation.

You will need to have strong time management skills coupled with computer literacy in all components of Microsoft office applications.

A desire to improve and succeed and the ability to generate real energy and enthusiasm in the work that you do are essential to the role.

You will contribute to the delivery of performance targets for services as appropriate and develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, managers, and others within the Speciality Business Unit and with Trust wide service users.

Job responsibilities

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, mangers, and others within the Department including service users.

Contribute to the delivery of performance targets for services as appropriate.

Provide line management support to admin teams to ensure appropriate level of service and deal with line management issues.

Ensure environment is safe, well equipped and complaint with Health and Safety standards.

Qualifications and Education

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English Grade A-C or 4-9 / Functional Skills Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy
  • Experience of working in MDT role


Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or NVQ level 4/ILM 3 or equivalent together with practical experience
  • Evidence of continued role development
  • Willing to undertake learning and development courses.
  • Knowledge of cancer pathways


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Significant previous administrative experience within a busy hospital setting
  • Supervisory experience within a team
  • Experience in a range of work procedures pertaining to Speciality Business Unit administration including electronic patient record, patient administration systems, patient tracking lists, performance, management of waiting list, EWTD etc.
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and National targets including cancer 2 week rules and 31/62 day rules, inpatient and outpatients targets, 18 week target.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and challenging deadlines
  • Working knowledge of the Trust's current information technology systems


Desirable

  • Knowledge of cancer treatments, interventions and terminology.
  • Performance management and use of PTL's for monitoring against access targets
