Job summary

The post holder will work with the Directorate Management Teams, in the development of strategic workforce planning within the Trust. Working with colleagues across the organisation to develop workforce profiles and identifying appropriate workforce models. Ensuring that workforce plans align to NHSi and HEE requirements and other reviews and initiatives within the Health Service.

Main duties of the job

Play a key role in the design and development of workforce solutions to address the workforce challenges in the Organisation, for example new ways of working through different roles and skills.

Ensure that workforce planning monitoring reports are accurate and informative, accompanied by adequate explanation and presented in a manner which is easily understandable for the target audience and related to organisational needs; working with finance colleagues and others corporate and clinical divisions to ensure consistency of data reported.

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience

  • Highly proficient keyboard and IT skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office functionality

  • Project management qualification (eg Prince 2) or other project management qualification or extensive experience of successfully managing projects
  • Experience of workforce planning
  • Evidence of continuous personal professional development


Desirable

  • Experience of using the WRaPT Tool

Essential

  • Experience of managing projects in complex and challenging environments and managing people through change.
  • Experience of developing a range of reports displaying analysis and supporting narrative pieces in relation to complex information and writing concise and effective reports.

  • Experience of undertaking analysis using a range of data including operational performance data to assess improvement opportunities and use appropriately to inform process improvement and redesign service delivery
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and plan own work and that of others and respond to pressure in a positive manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to liaise and communicate with all levels within the organisation
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working partnerships with professional groups and senior managers within the organisation and in other agencies.
  • Demonstrable experience of planning over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly
  • Knowledge and experience of undertaking process mapping, process improvement and implementing change
  • Ability to perform effectively with constant interruptions and distractions
