Job summary

An exiting and challenging opportunity now exists to become a band 6 senior registered nurse. Applications are invited to join our busy, vibrant, general medical nursing department here on ward 70 .

Ward 70 has 25 inpatient beds and covers a wide variety of clinical specialties involving patients with acute and long term conditions.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic to learn, dedicated, motivated and possess high standards of care with a desire to advance in their professional career, build upon and improve clinical and ward management and leadership skills.

A flexible attitude to work is required together with an excellent level of communication and sense of humor is essential.

Main duties of the job

manage the day to day running of the ward

coordinate staffing and the nursing team

maintain patient/staff safety

administration of medications EPMA/care plans/nerve center

oversee admissions/discharges/patient flow

communication/interpersonal skills

escalate concerns/problem solving

dealing with complaints

liaise with medical team/MDT/nursing team

eroster work

DATIX tier 2 reviewer

student mentor assessor

About us

The Trust's secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services. HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
