An exciting opportunity has become available to join the acute paediatric team at Bolton Foundation Trust. We are recruiting a band 6 team leader to work within our paediatric unit which incorporates an acute paediatric ward, an assessment and observation unit, day case unit and 3 bedded high dependency unit.
Main duties of the job
Candidates should have current experience within the field of acute paediatrics and ideally possess skills to work in all areas of the unit. We are looking for a dynamic team player who displays excellent leadership skills and has sound clinical knowledge and skills to be able to support junior staff on the ward and effectively manage a shift. Candidates should display the Trust values and have a desire to deliver excellent patient care.
Successful candidates will be offered opportunity to further develop leadership and management skills.

The Division is a Centre of Excellence for Women's and Children's services and has a credible and enviable reputation. Wedeliver over 6,000 babies and carry around 1500 gynaecological procedures each year, making us a specialist provider of health services forwomen, babies and their families in the North West Sector of Manchester and beyond.

The post holder will, as far as practicable, work opposite the Ward Manager providing assistance and promoting and delivering high standards of patient care, make decisions based upon knowledge and experience in respect of patient care and be accountable for those decisions. They will assist the manager in ensuring staff receive adequate supervision and training to enable them to become competent within the clinical area. They will deputise for the ward manager, working closely with other disciplines as required and act as bleep holder during their shift as flow co-ordinator for acute paediatric in patients on the unit
