Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Corporate Governance Advisor to join our team. They will work closely with the Associate Director of Corporate Governance/Head of Corporate Governance to provide comprehensive and high level corporate governance support to the Board and Board committees. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in corporate governance within an NHS or similar organisation. Excellent communications skills and attention to details are essential. The majority of the role is deadline driven and successful applicants must be able to demonstrate exemplary planning and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Corporate Governance Advisor provides corporate governance support to the Associate Director of Corporate Governance and Head of Corporate Governance. They assist with the provision of support to the Board and Board committees, drafting agendas and taking minutes of Board Committee meetings and ensuring that any actions resulting from the meetings are accurately recorded and followed up. they will be responsible for maintaining the Fit and Proper Person records and managing all aspect of the Trust's Conflicts of Interest process. They will be be responsible for the day to day management of some corporate governance staff.
About us
The Corporate Governance team is a relatively small team committed to providing comprehensive and high level advice in respect to the corporate governance agenda. The post holder will work closely with Executive and Non Executive Directors, as well as senior managers within corporate and clinical teams. Whilst based primarily at Trust Headquarters at the City Hospital campus, the post holder is expected to work across the different campuses when necessary. The team works flexibly, with a mixture of on-site and home working.
