We are looking for a highly motivated hard working Registered Nurse to join a dynamic Cath lab team to cover maternity leave for 9 months.
You will be working within a busy 10 bedded elective cardiac procedures unit working closely with the Cardiac Centre and be trained in the necessary skills to assist with procedures on outpatients and inpatients including Diagnostic Cardiac Angiography, Permanent Pacemaker insertion, Loop Recorder insertion, Direct Current Cardioversions, Trans-oesophageal Echocardiograms and Stress Echocardiograms.
The Cardiac Angiography Suite consists of a small friendly nursing team and we are committed to ensuring we provide a service of a high quality to all of our patients. We work closely with all members of the MDT whilst ensuring good communication and team work across Cardiology and the MSE.
Main duties of the job
You will obtain skills in scrubbing, running and the recovery of patients following all cardiac procedures, assisting with cardiology clinics by performing observations, Electrocardiograms and being able to use Lorenzo.
In your role you will work closely with a mentor and will be expected to continue self-directed learning to ensure a high standard of theoretical and practical learning is achieved.
Once competency is achieved in these areas we will train you to perform nurse led pre-assessment clinics and assist the Cardiac Physiologists with the Stress Echocardiography service.
You must have a willingness to attend Immediate Life Support training and attend the Essex Cardio-Thoracic Centre in Basildon to undertake PCI training once competent in diagnostic Angiography..
About us
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest in the country, with a workforce of approximately 15,000 who serve a population of 1.2 million people.
We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best, to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook - if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.
We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed and progress.
