NHS@Home is an exciting model of care that bridges the gap between traditionally hospital-based care to care in people's home, supported by joint working with system partners and the use of appropriate remote clinical monitoring tools.

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and forward-thinking experienced Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead the NHS@Home service and team based at NBT.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the day-to-day operations of the service, whilst supporting the rapid growth and development of the exciting NHS@Home service across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.

This is a demanding role that requires resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will work closely with the Clinical Operational Lead and other collaborative partners to ensure the service operates efficiently and effectively, ensuring that high standards of patient care are maintained at all times,

The NHS @ Home Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will:
  • Provide inspiring and collaborative leadership to support the delivery of the NHS@Home at NBT and in conjunction with colleagues at UHBW and Sirona.
  • Ensure the delivery of the service is in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, national legislation, and standards.
  • Ensure delivery of high quality, responsive, safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
  • Act as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in a role which encompasses leadership, management, and clinical responsibilities.

Job responsibilities

This post will provide the clinical and managerial nursing leadership for NHS@Home at North Bristol NHS Trust and support the collaborative delivery and leadership of innovative and safe virtual ward models of care across the BNSSG area.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are always upheld across the NHS@Home service. It is essential you have access to a car and hold a valid driving license to support clinical delivery and monitoring.

Working closely with the Clinical Operational Lead, you will take responsibility for providing a clear focus for the profession and effective clinical leadership and accountability for the nursing service. They will be responsible for ensuring that they and their team act in a manner that upholds the values of the Trust and that of the profession.

Person Specification

Education/Training/Qualification

Essential

  • RGN with live registration
  • Recognised teaching and assessing qualification
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • First degree or working towards this


Desirable

  • Evidence of formal leadership and management development


Work experience

Essential

  • Current/recent experience at band 6 or 7
  • Current/recent experience in specialty


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Practicing current clinical skills
