Post: Education Academy Fellow - Simulation
Three posts available:

One post available - across sites - 1.0wte

One post at Whipps Cross Hospital - 0.4wte

One post at The Royal London Hospital - 0.4wte

One post would be based Whipps Cross Hospital Simulation Centre, one post would be based at Royal London Hospital Simulation Centre and the other would work across all sites which are part of Barts NHS Trust. However there will be an expectation for the post holders to support activity across all four sites

The contract is 12 months, fixed-term and one is 5 days per week 1.0 wte based across all sites, the second is 2 days per week 0.4wte and based within the Simulation centre at Whipps Cross and the third is 2 days per week 0.4 wte based within the Simulation Centre at Royal London Hospital

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder for this post will be involved primarily with developing educational opportunities for Post Graduate Medical Trainees through a wide range of teaching modalities including simulation based training, clinical skills, lectures, teaching clinics and bedside teaching. Supporting core activity across all specialties, across site and interprofessional team trainingas requested.

This would typically suit anyone wishing to develop their expertise in delivering education programmes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS
  • ALS


oClinical background of either Anaesthesia/acute care/A&E/ ITU/Trauma

Essential

  • oClinical background of either Anaesthesia/acute care/A&E/ ITU/Trauma
  • oPrevious experience in delivering education, ideally in an inter-professional setting
  • oExperience of involvement in research/written papers/public presentation
  • oNHS clinical experience


Knowledge

Essential

  • oBasic knowledge of educational theory
  • oComputer literacy: word, excel, power point


Skills

Essential

  • oDemonstrates strong oral and documented communication skills
  • oEffective team player
  • oorganisational Skills including time management and project ocompletion
  • oBasic numeracy: able to understand and manipulate data
