Job summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to support our team over a 12 month period to further develop our NHS Cadet Programme across Wirral and wider Place bases in Cheshire and Merseyside.

Having successfully ran an NHS Cadets programme in Wirral for a number of years, we are proud of the difference that we as have made to the lives of our local young people and the opportunities that we have provided them.

This role will enable us to expand our programme, working with community partners and other NHS stakeholders to make a difference to over 200 young people in the next 12 months.

Main duties of the job

If successful, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the extension of the NHS Cadets Programme within the Wirral Place and other Places within Cheshire & Merseyside. The role will require the post holder to work within a project management framework, managing key project elements, facilitating and monitoring progress and supporting performance improvement.

The role will involve building and maintaining positive relationships with other health and care providers and youth delivery partners to effectively implement a successful programme, creating opportunities and monitoring outcomes for underrepresented groups within our communities.

This role is part of our Learning and Organisational Development Team, a small but perfectly formed team based out of St Catherines Health Centre. We want to support someone to settle into this role, offer them development linked to the role and help them deliver an amazing project that will be of benefit to young people in our communities and help develop our reputation as an NHS Cadet Provider, able to share our experience and good practice across health and social care.

The successful candidate will be play a crucial role in redefining the Trusts approach to widening participation as part of our organisations People Strategy as well as informing the development of a Cheshire and Merseyside approach to NHS Cadet Programmes.

Qualifications and Professional Training

Essential

  • Degree level qualification of equivalent experience
  • Qualification or equivalent experience in a related discipline such as Youth Work, Social Care or Health Care
  • Evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning


Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of engaging and involving colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public
  • Experience of developing and delivering training courses and material
  • Demonstrated experience of managing defined projects
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and professions to deliver change
  • Experience of working with people who may be challenging to engage.
  • Experience in evaluating service delivery
  • Knowledge of inclusion and equality & diversity
  • Experience in presenting to and leading groups
  • Experience of patient and staff engagement to improve service delivery


Desirable

  • Experience of working with young people with a range of lived experiences, including those with protected characteristics.
