Job description

Job responsibilities

Conducting preliminary patient examinations to ascertain the patients condition

Referring patients to other departments such as osteopathy, radiology and cardiology

Receiving patients from Paramedics and taking over their care

Sharing information and updates with family members

Analysing test results

Taking detailed and accurate notes

Applying dressings and administering pain relief, antibiotics and other medications as required

Completing all necessary discharge paperwork

Maintaining care standards in accident and emergency

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

• At least 6 months NHS and A&E experience in that last 3 years

Qualifications

Essential

• Degree in Nursing

Additional Criteria

Essential

• NMC Registration

Desirable

• Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and an ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centred approach
