Job summary

Are you interested in preceptorship and supporting newly registered practitioners? We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a passion for preceptorship to join our Professional Development Team. You will have current experience of managing change and a teaching qualification or equivalent experience. Excellent communication skills are essential, as are diplomacy and negotiation skills and a proven ability to be able to work without supervision.

This role provides an opportunity to develop new skills and experience, contribute to new service delivery and retain a clinical role. Your own professional development will be supported.

This is an exciting and challenging role and requires a person who has a passion for innovative learning. Someone who has confidence, courage and resilience as a leader to facilitate change within a complex environment.

Main duties of the job

The role is key to supporting newly registered practitioners within clinical areas to have the knowledge, skills and professional development opportunities to contribute towards delivery of excellent and safe patient care. The focus will be supporting the learning, exam preparation, orientation and clinical learning for staff who have joined the NMC register within one year of practice.

The role will facilitate a quality inter-professional learning environment for students and all other learners and healthcare staff in the workplace, developing and implementing point of care learning and development opportunities.

The post holder will facilitate a life-long learning culture to promote continuous professional development and facilitate recruitment and retention activities and workforce transformation
