An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Gynaecology service. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering patient focused individualised care to people living with cancer. Are you an experienced RGN with a minimum of five years post registration experience with a high level of expertise in Gynaecology and Cancer Care? If so, you may be the person we are looking for to join our team.
East Cheshire NHS Trust is committed to providing high standard and equitable services for cancer patients. We are looking to expand our team with a 12-month secondment or fixed term position. The successful applicant will be working alongside our Macmillan Gynaecology CNS in supporting our patients with Gynaecology cancer as well as implementing nurse led clinical triage and ensuring patients are informed of a ruling out of cancer or cancer diagnosis by day 28 in the pathway.
This post is 22.5 hours per week
Main duties of the job
The Gynaecology CNS will provide clinical triage of new patients referred into the trust with suspected gynaecology cancers, from triage they will order diagnostic tests as indicated. They will support patients in consultant clinics as well as working autonomously to inform patients of normal test results. The CNS will work actively supporting the existing Gynaecology navigator to ensure a safe, high-quality pathway for patients to be diagnosed within 28 days.
