An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 infection prevention nurse for 12M. This is a developmental post with a band 6 grading being allocated following the successful completion of internal and external training.
The post will offer valuable experience across a variety of disciplines and community settings with the opportunity for the post holder to develop their infection prevention and control knowledge within a team that works proactively trust wide.
We will also accept applications from other allied health professionals. e.g Physiotherapists, Dental Nurses and ODPs.

Main duties of the job
The applicant will be a core member of the infection prevention team, supporting the team who provide specialist advice and support on the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection within the Trust. This will be achieved through regular audit and monitoring of clinical practice and environments including the uploading of information into electronic databases.
The team is dynamic, friendly and supportive. We have a strong background in training and developing those new to infection prevention and control, in which the post-holder would be required to actively participate.
The infection prevention team is structured to support the four operational divisions & are required to travel to and work from multiple sites.

- Providing specialist advice and support to all staff, patients and members of the public regarding the prevention and control of infection.
- Promoting the reduction in incidence's of infection across the Trust through the provision of expert advice, risk assessment, surveillance, audit, education and the development of specialised protocols, policies and guidance.
- Supporting the Trust in achieving compliance with all local and national legislation including the Health & Social Care Act (2008).
