We are looking for an experienced compassionate leader to lead our newly restructured business support leadership team.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of leadership across services and supporting teams through change.

This will be a high profile role, with the opportunity to help develop a strategy for how admin colleagues can support our changing Mental Health services.

The Head of Business Support could be based at Charter House Luton (LU1 2PJ) or Twinwoods, Clapham (MK41 6AT). Please for further information kindly refer to the job description and person specification attached to this vacancy.

  • oEducated to master's degree level or equivalent experience
  • oExperience of using QI methodology or similar quality improvement methods to review processes and deliver improvements across complex services.
  • oProject Management qualification or equivalent project management experience

  • oSenior Managerial or Leadership experience
  • oExperience of leading change in services or, delivering tangible and sustained improvements
  • oBusiness Planning and budgetary management
  • oExperience of leading large numbers of people through influence rather than authority
  • oExperience of line managing teams of ten or more staff
  • oExperience of business planning and budget management
  • oExperience of using business intelligence tools to deliver changes to processes.
  • oExperience of leading cultural change
  • oExperience of leading technological changes across a large organisation to improve services.
  • oExperience of developing long term plans for a service across multiple areas.
  • oExperience of developing, writing and implementing policies that will be adopted across the directorate or trust.

  • oProven negotiation skills, able to participate in negotiations with external partners and colleagues to find a mutually beneficial position.
  • oExcellent communication skills, able to relate to and communicate to staff at all levels delivering sensitive and complex information in a variety of ways.
  • oUnderstanding of the Nolan Principles of Public Life and how these will need to be demonstrated in business support.
  • oHas a highly developed understanding of the changing NHS environment and its impact on service provision and staff.
  • oExtensive knowledge of practice and policy across a broad range of responsibilities e.g. finance/ human resources.
