An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic, and experienced Radiographer to join our friendly department at Croydon University Hospital (CUH). This is a new role and we are looking for candidates who are keen to progress and develop their leadership and management skills whilst providing clinical leadership to radiographers.

Organisational and leadership skills are important for this role, as the successful candidate will manage all radiology staff by progressing their training and development. They will also be responsible for supporting the teaching of our radiography students and work experience placements.

We would welcome applications from candidates who are new to management roles and are keen to develop in this area.

Croydon University Hospital is a large urban DGH situated in South London, serving the needs of a diverse population of 360,000. It has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in London. Croydon has easy access to both central London and the south coast. It also offers a huge range of social, leisure and shopping venues, with excellent transport links to both Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will ensure all staff working across all modalities are suitably trained and signed off as competent to use the equipment and work under CUH protocols in-hours and out of hours. They will also ensure that protocols are regularly reviewed and updated.

Additional responsibilities involve managing the recruitment and retention of staff within the radiology department.

The post holder will be required to participate in the Governance of the Department including Risk Management, Health and Safety, Research and Audit activities.

The post holder will also hold budgetary responsibility such as ordering specialist equipment, day to day management of service contracts and invoicing agency and outsourced services.
