Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Radiographer to join our friendly and well-supported team. Job description

Job responsibilities

We have 5 new state of the art labs comprising of 2 single plane, 2 bi-plane and 1 hybrid lab. The new labs will enable us to produce innovative imaging with research, development and service improvement at the heart of everything we do. Our staff are exposed to a wide range of different patients and procedures which gives them valuable experience and scope of practice whilst helping us to deliver the best possible care. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the Cath Lab team at St.Georges and the department provides an extended day and OOHs service to our patients and participation in this is essential.

A requirement of the position is a BSC (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent with recent NHS experience ideally within an acute setting. Our staff also benefit from the inner London high cost area supplement of 20%.

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Relevant experience in Cath labs
  • Experience of staff supervision
  • Experience of training and development of other staff and students
  • Knowledge of risk assessments
  • Knowledge of Radiographers professional code of conduct

  • Experience of clinical audit


Skills

Essential

  • Effective Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Ability to interact within a multidisciplinary team

  • Advanced IT skills


Knowledge

  • High quality radiographic technique
  • In-depth knowledge of IR(ME)R
  • Awareness of targets that affect Cardiology
