We have a unique opportunity for staff nurses to join our teams on a Stroke & Emergency Department rotation. Both our stroke services and emergency department are growing, including the much-anticipated opening of a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.

We are looking for staff nurses to join us on this amazing journey of expansion and growth, bringing new opportunities to the teams.

The Stroke Unit boasts the most friendly and welcoming team atmosphere with fantastic opportunities to progress your career. The 24 bedded Acute Stroke Unit cares for patients requiring close monitoring and observation, encompassing acute care skills, following thrombolysis and repatriation following specialist intervention such as thrombectomy as well as patients requiring rehabilitation needs.

The Emergency Department is a busy working environment with a high turnover of patients which sees and treats children and adults with a range of conditions including minor injuries, major trauma, medical and surgical emergencies and mental health conditions. Clinical working areas include Majors, EDAU and Resus. We have a dedicated Clinical Practice Educator to ensure robust support and education as you begin your new journey.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop significant expertise with discharge pathways and the associated complexities working as part of the wider integrated multidisciplinary team. This role can be an incredible step in your nursing career as we begin work toward becoming a centre of excellence

  • Evidence of CPD.

Experience

  • pre/ post registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
