Are you friendly, keen to learn, and a team player? If so keep reading as this could be your opportunity to join our well established team here on Franziska Willer Ward at Sedgefield Community Hospital. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic staff nurse to join our team.

As a team we strive towards delivering a high standard of care and this is reflected in the feedback we receive from the patients and relatives who have had experience of being on our ward.

Main duties of the job

Franziska Willer Ward is a 16/18 bedded rehabiltation ward for mainly elderley patients. We accept patients from the acute wards, directly from accident and emergency and home and other NHS organisations.

The main duties of the role are:

-Plan and deliver high quality of care to patients adhering to the trust policies and procedures.

-Maintain a high standard of documentation

-Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal

-Plan and deliver safe admissions and discharges

-Be responsible for the delegation of tasks to other members of the team

-Work well as a team player but also show initative

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

As a staff nurse on Franziska Willer Ward at Sedgefield Community Hospital you will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of care to patients, assessing individual needs to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care. You may depending upon experience also be responsible for supervision of junior staff within the team.. Excellent communication skills are required and you must have the ability to work well on your own initiative or as part of a team. You should possess good organisational skills and be able to contribute to the development of flexible working arrangements within the team. You must be clinically up to date with nursing skills and motivated to develop professionally
