Main duties of the job

The primary purpose of this role is to lead on the local delivery of the national ambition to improve the prevention, identification, and treatment of mild to moderate pelvic floor dysfunction following birth.
The role will contribute to the NHS Long Term Plan that all women will have access to multidisciplinary pelvic health clinics and pathways across England by March 2024. In doing so the post holder will initially work with the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) in the development of training and E-learning for maternity staff trainees in OASIS, CRPT and pregnancy related bladder/bowel dysfunction, to ultimately reduce the number of women living with pelvic floor dysfunction postnatally and in later life. During this period the post holder will also support the development of system wide pathways. Following this, the pelvic health specialist midwife will be visible within clinical areas to implement the programme.

Actively seek opportunities for coproduction with services users with lived experience to develop routine information and advice for women and ensure these are culturally sensitive.
Promote service user engagement from those with complex social factors.
Contribute to the development of training and E-learning for maternity staff trainees in OASIS, CRPT and pregnancy related bladder/bowel dysfunction
Engage with the MDT and stakeholders to standardise pathways
Lead the implementation of pathways to reduce unnecessary referrals to pelvic health services and waiting time.
