Job summary
We are recruiting for a Senior Information Analyst (Diagnostics)who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards \great people, great place.
The Trust Digital Strategy sets out an aim for the Trust to become 'Information Led' by driving behaviours that enable decisions based on relevant information using quality timely data. This post will play a lead role in helping the organisation meet this aim.
The postholder will work with the Data Management Lead taking a proactive role in the implementation and the ongoing development and maintenance of a modern data warehouse solution.
This role will establish the production of data flows that supports the production of business intelligence contributing to all levels of the Trust in the achievement of business objectives and high quality patient care.
Ensure that all reporting timetables within the Trust and for external information users are met.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work in a team responsible for the development, maintenance and performance of the Data Warehouse. Examples of tasks include the development and maintenance of ETL processes, data cleansing routines, indexing and reporting datasets.

Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high quality, clear and user-friendly data models that supports the production of good business intelligence.
- Ongoing design of data warehouse to facilitate the investigation of interdependencies between both Trust Divisions and, quality, financial, workforce and activity information.
- Use technical and analytical skills to contribute to the Performance Information and Decision Support Team deliver its objectives of developing a Trust-wide data warehouse and sophisticated reporting service.
- Ongoing design of data tables which allow the integration of new data items and flows within the data warehouse.
- To maintain and develop solutions that will automate, schedule and improve upon current processes within the Performance Information and Decision Support team and the wider Trust.
- Provide structured data, and advice in response to both internal and external ad-hoc information requests.
- Give regular feedback and reports on data quality metrics used within the data warehouse.
- Provide information for regular statutory returns required by the Department of Health, in accordance with the DOH technical definitions and guidelines working within strict timescales.
- Ensure the Trust complies with information standards and definitions as described in the NHS Data Manual and Dictionary.
- Also to liaise with the appropriate NHS Information Authority to ensure that the data held on Trust systems and reports produced using this data adheres to central guidance.
- Provide technical advice and specialist support to staff for the use of NHS information and systems available within the Trust.
- Administration of internal databases and associated software maintenance ensuring that adequate technical documentation and change control processes are in place.

Essential
- Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse methodology (FACT and Dimensions) and concepts
- Significant experience of information handling and analysis gained in a work environment.
- Significant experience of development of reports and presentation of complex performance data
- Advanced level knowledge and experience in using a range of software applications
Desirable
- Experience of working with both Provider and Commissioning business intelligence.
Abilities
Essential
- Highly numerate, with advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Able to develop new skills and knowledge with IT packages, to intermediate level

- Experience of designing reports using SQL.
