Our purpose is to lead and inspire innovation and improvement in cancer care for all people in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.As Programme Manager for Targeted Lung Health Checks and Treatment Variation you will lead a broad range of initiatives to prevent cancer and treat it as early as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-profile programme across Wessex, involving strategic thinking, quality improvement, programme management and stakeholder engagement across primary care, public health, secondary care, and local communities.

Job responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOULL DO

Key functions of the post are:
  • Programme and project management
  • Communications, stakeholder engagement and relationship management
  • Patient and public involvement
  • Financial and information management

This role will ensure delivery of the Targeted Lung Health Check programme and support the delivery of the Treatment Variation wider programme of work. The post holder will represent Wessex Cancer Alliance nationally and locally to build relationships, develop knowledge and implement change and transformation to develop and deliver all the elements of the Targeted Lung Health Check programme in Wessex.

Someone who is passionate about improving cancer services and outcomes, who is knowledge of project management with a track record of managing successful change.

Person Specification

Qualifications / training required

Essential

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a health care setting
  • Member of relevant professional body - where appropriate
  • Knowledge of project management /improvement skills across a range of disciplines, with a track record of managing successful change
  • Holds a relevant project management qualification (e.g. Prince2 Practitioner) or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge obtained through experience
  • Working knowledge of more than one methodology


Desirable

  • QSIR college associate
  • Coaching qualification


Previous or relevant experience necessary

Essential

  • Experience of working autonomously and self-starter
  • Proven track record in project management experience
  • Facilitation of multi-professional groups
  • Presenting and communicating to a variety of different audiences
  • Experience at a senior level in industry or healthcare sector
  • Evidence of leading and implementing change, influencing behaviour, collaborative working with others
  • Evidence of significant structured project management skills and experience
  • Literate, with report writing skills and experience
  • Previous experience in quality / service improvement environment


Desirable

  • Previous experience in healthcare setting
