We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week, to include routine weekend working on the 7 day rota. There may also be a need for flexible working across the working day.
We can offer you opportunities to engage in research, training, coaching and career development. We have links to the local higher education institutions, and have also developed local learning opportunities. In particular, we offer an excellent 'AHP Future Leaders Programme', which has been praised by Suzanne Rastrick, Chief AHP Officer.
International applications are welcome and we can offer skype interviews. We will consider people returning to practice and job sharers.
Main duties of the job
This post has a mixed caseload of Acute Medical, Surgical, Stroke, Eldercare, Neurology, and Emergency Medicine Inpatients. Based at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. You will have the opportunity to manage a varied and high turnover caseload.
We are looking for a team member who can provide decisive and effective Occupational Therapy input. This will be a permeant contract.

Some patients may have complex and/or chronic presentations. To determine clinical diagnosis and Occupational Therapy treatment indicated. To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.You will develop highly specialist skills under the guidance of the senior staff.To provide clinical cross cover within your team as delegated by your Clinical Team LeadTo attend clinical level discussions / meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team LeadTo be available to support and supervise junior and undergraduate team membersTo be innovative with service development and promotion

- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- HCPC registered
- Band 5 experience
Desirable
- Membership of the College of Occupational Therapy.
- Additional Training to support team management or additional clinical skills
Experience

- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, an understanding of their roles and respect for the other professionals within the team.
- Experience of supporting junior staff.

- Experience working in an NHS setting in the following clinical areas: Stroke and Neurology
