Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Lead MR Radiographer to join our friendly and committed team of CT and MR trained radiographers.
The James Paget University Hospital is located on the beautiful Norfolk and Suffolk coastline, with the beach within walking distance from the Trust. Norwich is a city of history, culture and entertainment, only 20 miles away and the Norfolk Broads appeal to anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle or enjoy some watersports. It really does suit all tastes.

Main duties of the job
The Department is in the fortunate position of receiving funding for the procurement of a new Diagnostic Assessment Centre, with the plan to house additional diagnostic equipment and we have recently expanded our MR service into a brand new build joined to the current hospital.
We undertake all general MR work within our 2 new rooms and have facilities for GA provision . We have both GE and Siemens 1.5T units. We work closely with other specialties to ensure we are providing the best service possible within national guidelines. The Trust is very supportive of trials, and research.
We are looking for someone who is motivated to ensure that each patient receives a good and safe experience from an understanding and friendly face. The team work hard to achieve this and patients are at the centre of all of our plans.
The successful candidate will be passionate and have extensive knowledge and experience of MR. They will have further qualifications in MR imaging /safety. They will be someone with excellent communication skills, drive and enthusiasm to lead this service forward.
This role will be mainly clinical and supervisory with the expectation that the candidate will provide the team with training support and strong leadership. There will be an expectation that the lead will deputise in the absence of the Head of CT/MR also. Radiographers currently rotate in both CT and MR 7 days a week and we have radiography students , both traditional route and apprentices.
