Could you identify innovative opportunities to enhance medical education across Hywel Dda? If so, this may be the role for you.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified medical practitioner to join Hywel Dda University Health Board's progressive team of medical educators, in the role of Medical Education Teaching Fellow for Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This role is based in Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen but there will be an expectation for some teaching to be delivered to students in Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest via Microsoft Teams.
This full time role is being offered on a 12month fixed term basis and expectations of the role include supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This post is ideal for those who wish to pursue their career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology but have interest in medical education, with opportunities for the successful candidate to spend up to two sessions per week towards their specialty training.
There is no on-call built in to this role but there will be an opportunity to participate in the on-call out of hours on an ad hoc basis.
Please note : The salary for this post is �45,000 per annum. This post does not count towards incremental credit or pay progression
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role will include:-
-Delivering ward and classroom based teaching for Medical and Physician Associate Students in accordance with relevant curricula and learning needs
- Running teaching clinics
- Providing clinical skills & simulation training opportunities
-Delivering ward and classroom based teaching and undertaking workplace based assessments for Junior Doctors
- Active involvement in quality improvement activities
