Job summary
There is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic RGN to develop their career in the Maxillofacial Unit. We are seeking to appoint a motivated maxillofacial nurse with extensive clinical and leadership skills to be appointed to a band 7 unit manager.
The successful candidate will have proven maxillofacial nursing experience and need to demonstrate post registration education and leadership skills.
The department is a self-contained unit, with outpatient clinics and Local and General operating lists, including our award winning special need patient lists.
The primary base will be the Royal Gwent Hospital, however the successful applicant needs to provide leadership to the Nevill Hall team.
The unit is currently open between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and operates a late night rota.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a nurse who has a passion and drive to provide and ensure high quality patient care, who is forward thinking and motivated to join this busy and expanding team.
As the unit manager you must have an passion for maxillofacial nursing. You should have excellent communication skills and work well in a multidisciplinary team. You will be accountable for team performance and the quality of the service delivered. You will act as a role model to the team, support staff through clinical leadership and guidance helping them to develop their own clinical skills.
We are focused on providing an effective and efficient service with emphasis on providing the best personalised care, co-coordinating the patient's care through the department, ensuring that all the patients' needs are met, integrating high quality care in the most cost effective setting.
