It takes a skilled and dedicated person to help patients and their families/carers through urological problems which can affect their everyday lives. Our patients can have acute or chronic conditions encompassing all urological problems and diseases both benign and malignant. Could you be that person? We would be very welcoming to a Band 5 nurse with a passion for urology that can develop through a training programme in to this role as a Band 6 Urology Nurse Specialist. Our urology nurse specialists provide a comprehensive range of nurse-led and therapeutic services including a triage and daily urgent drop-in service. As a Urology Nurse Specialist you will be expected to deliver and teach evidence-based specialist care to patients, families, carers and community teams.
You will also participate in the education and training of staff, and continue to develop best practice and evidence based care. You will be part of service provision and development, facilitating and leading the service forward.
We are a dynamic and forward thinking department and need a like-minded urology nurse specialist to join our team.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be excellent in IT and embrace technology as we pride ourselves in being a paper-lite department and using multiple IT systems. As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. As a result and due to our increasing patient referrals we are looking to extend our current opening times to several evenings each week and alternate Saturdays. This post will be a flexible non fixed pattern rota to meet the demands of the department and the hours will be across the working week. You will benefit from a friendly and supportive environment with a commitment to continuing professional development.
This is an exciting role for someone looking to be involved in a fast paced, active team striving for quality results. Full training will be given and this will require the post holder to be flexible with working days during the training period. For an informal visit and to discuss the timetable or for any other information regarding this role please contact either or Jackie Robinson Senior Sister on 01225 826249 via e-mail Jackie.robinson10@nhs.net or Sarah Workman Junior Sister.
