Job summary
Our Solent Long Covid Vocational Rehabilitation Service are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with excellent people and communication skills to join the Team.
The Solent Long Covid Vocational Rehabilitation Service has been established to address specific need within the Long Covid population to support and enable return to work and meaningful occupation. The service will work in alignment with the Solent Neuro Vocational Rehabilitation Services- an established Occupational Therapy led service dedicated to working with people with a variety of neurological conditions.
Vocational Rehabilitation intervention aims to support an individual to achieve goals to succeed in a vocation and return to paid employment, unpaid work experience, voluntary work and, where appropriate, meaningful occupation.
You will predominantly work virtually but where required rehabilitation can be delivered in a variety of settings and be tailored to meet the needs of the individual.
The successful applicant will be expected to work with clients with a Long Covid diagnosis in group and 1:1 settings with support of the Long Covid Vocational Rehabilitation Service team and in collaboration with the wider Long Covid Multi-disciplinary Team.
Main duties of the job
*To provide specialist therapy skills to the long covid therapy caseload
*To assess and treat own caseload, which may include complex presentations
*Maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner
*To contribute to the inter-disciplinary working within the team and Locality by teaching, learning & practicing inter-disciplinary skills & techniques as defined by an agreed competency framework or training scheme.
*To support service users to engage with the app based rehabilitation
*Supervise and support junior staff or students
*Continued learning and development through research of new clinical condition
*Contribute to development of new clinical treatment programmes in a changing environment and clinical evidence emerging for effective treatment options
