Job summary

Under supervision, to undertake administrative and admin duties within the community children's services. This will include all aspects of general administrative duties as directed.

We recommend that all individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve providing a comprehensive and professional administration across community children's services.Applicants should have, and be able to demonstrate, good communication and organisational skills along with good IT skills and the potential to work well within a team and independently.

As part of the Apprenticeship you will be expected to undertake a Business & Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification.Due to the current Government eligibility criteria for Government funded apprenticeship schemes, we are currently only able to accept applications from candidates who have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years, and who are not already in any form of Government funded education.
If successful after Interview, a BKSB assessment must be completed within 2 weeks of receiving the conditional offer to ascertain you are eligible to undertake an apprentice programme.

Job responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide a comprehensive and confidential information service within the administration department of community children's services.Responsible for ensuring effective communication systems are maintained, using electronic means where possible, updating as required. This will include the distribution of letter, information, leaflet packs etc.
  • Work with Admin/Senior Staff Team to identify need for and develop new administration systems, processes and procedures.Coordinate admin cover for periods of sickness/absence and annual leave.
  • Deal with general enquiries by staff, families or other professionals.Creating and maintaining spreadsheets.Liaising with and working with Admin Staff from other bases.
  • Responsible for participation in the Trust appraisal process, identifying own mandatory professional, personal development and training needs.
  • Produce and keep updated procedure notes for all administrative tasks for which the post holder has the prime responsibility.Must remain highly confidential when dealing with any information regarding families or staff.
