The post-holder will support the process of change across the Trust, as part of the Applications Team. This change will impact a large number of staff in the Trust and the post-holder will be responsible for helping minimise the disruption caused.

Main duties of the job

The ICT Clinical Change Manager will be a champion of digital change that will benefit service users. They will be responsible for the design and implementation of new and effective processes, ensuring real engagement with clinical, managerial and administrative staff at the Trust.

The post-holder will be responsible for understanding current practices and local requirements and helping design and deliver current documentation in an electronic format in turn supporting the delivery of these to meet the vision and strategy of the Trust for ICT, which is to:

Enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to support and improve health and healthcare delivery.

Within specified work-streams to:
  • Develop expert knowledge of electronic clinical documentation and the work processes required to use it effectively
  • Analyse existing work processes against the Programme process requirements.
  • Design and implement new and effective processes, ensuring real engagement with clinical, managerial, and administrative staff at the Trust.
  • Engage appropriate organisational change management techniques to prepare, manage and support change processes in a manner which seeks to minimise disruption to day-to-day business during this major Programme implementation that will affect large numbers of staff at the same point in time.
  • To support effective communications processes, ensuring real engagement with clinical, managerial and administrative staff

The ICT department manages the Trust's ICT systems, infrastructure and IT support servicesenabling the electronic filing, printing and sharing of both clinical and non-clinical information. Italso provides support to manage the systems and services which includes helpdesk IT training break-fix application development, acquisition and support for all the supported Trust IT services.The ICT department is also responsible for Information Governance.We work to identify opportunities to streamline business processes and to enable data sharingand collaboration internally and externally by use, or replacement, of technology. In addition, ICTshould provide tools to enable business units to achieve their goals, resulting in improved qualityof care to patients.Easier access to information, including through digital technology, is reshaping the way we liveour lives, and the way we access and interact with services. Job responsibilities

Change Management Take full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completionof medium-scale projects Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project. Ensure that realisticproject plans are maintained, and regular and accurate communication to stakeholders. Adopt appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven)or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Ensure Quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure. Manage thechange control procedure and ensure that project deliverables are completed withinagreed timescale and resource and are signed off. Provide effective leadership to the project/change team, and takes appropriate action were team performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Ensure that there is a business perspective on how any new technical capabilities will be integrated into the business, including planning around key business cycles, selecting appropriate customers for migration, etc. Initiate the business implementation plan,including all the activities that the business needs to do to prepare for new technical components and technologies

Management responsibilities Provide change management leadership and facilitation for applications and clinicalsystems projects (including management of Change Agents and collaborative working withChampion Users, Trainers and Project Management) and providing expert advice to theTrust

Leading project teams of different professional groups with their own views and opinionsand ensuring consensus is reached in the implementation of new systems and initiatives.Research and Development Undertake primary and secondary research, audits and evaluations as required. Autonomy for specific areas of directorate, to assess the impact of change and makedecisions, balancing risks and priorities Proactive in identifying and addressing issues which are significant within and acrossdirectorates.
