We are looking for a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) to join our established team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners in ED at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity facilitates training and education alongside a clinical role allowing you to work within the four pillars of advanced practice:- leadership, education, research and clinical practice. It involves working as part of an enthusiastic team dedicated to ensuring patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed medical conditions are at the forefront of service provision and receive prompt timely intervention. The successful candidate will work across the Emergency Department to ensure patients benefit from early assessment, investigation and the development and implementation of a structured clinical management plan.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will ideally be clinically experienced in the Emergency Department. They will exercise high levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care. They will ensure person-centred care and family carer collaboration. As appropriate, the promotion and maintenance of independence, health and wellbeing will be undertaken.

The post will require you to develop your skills and knowledge to work as an autonomous practitioner to appropriately assess, examine, investigate, diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.

Job responsibilities

During training, the tACP will be supported to attend and complete MSc study, 20% of which will be off the job training. On qualification, the post holder will deliver an 80% clinical component to their role. 20% will be related to clinical professional development underpinned by the advanced practice framework with an expectation to undertake & complete the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) e-portfolio to become credentialed. Clinical professional development Supervised Clinical support, appraisal, clinical audit, teaching, self-development and research allocation will be individualised & time allocation will be directed by an agreed job plan & in alignment with departmental Advanced Practice framework & progression pathway agreed with the Consultant ACP & EM Clinical director.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of �43.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of �13.

  • Post registration experience at a senior level (band 6 or above) in a speciality area
