To provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors by:

Ensuring all essential services are maintained to support clinical departments in their prime task of treating patients whilst ensuring all statutory legislation is complied with.Ensure maintenance tasks are fulfilled to appropriate levels of quality in a compliant manner.Perform engineering maintenance work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.Responsible for fault diagnosis, repair and calibration on a wide range of complex engineering plant and equipment.Installation of new equipment and also new electrical/mechanical services.

Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic self motivated Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Craftsperson to work within a large organisation. Although this role is multi-faceted, in this instance we are looking for experienced individuals that have gained their career experience within an Mechanical engineering maintenance background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand, receive and give complex technical instructions to other Maintenance workers.

Provide advice and instruction to other maintenance workers

Out of normal working hours (equates to approx 65% of the post holders total attendance time), the post holder will be responsible for accepting maintenance requests from all areas of the site at which they are based. The maintenance requests will be both routine and emergency. The post holder will be responsible for interpreting the various situations and adjusting their work response priorities as requests are received. The post holder shall also determine when circumstances arise that need to be communicated to senior staff within the hospital sites and when the on-call Estates Officer should be contacted in order to pass critical information onwards and/or seek guidance/approval for any actions that are required.

You should have experience of fault finding on complex building services, plant and equipment to a high level of competence and be able to work on own initiative.
