You will be part of the Urgent Treatment Centre team providing clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of patients requiring Emergency/Urgent Care, who may have highly complex acute presentation from the very sick seriously ill, to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will work autonomously, demonstrate highly specialised knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of patients attending the Urgent Treatment Centre. You will demonstrate safe, critical decision-making in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with the clinicians, nursing team and multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures relevant to the departments.
Main duties of the job
You will determine clinical diagnosis and treatments indicated, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. You will provide clinical expertise for developing and enhancing the service. This will be done in collaboration with medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues. You will demonstrate advanced skills and competencies.
You will ensure that evidence based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the clinical area, Trust and externally, as appropriate.

The Urgent Treatment Centre based at Rochdale Infirmary offers a service for adults and children requiring assessment and management of minor injury and or minor illness. With over 50,000 attendances annually and one third of these service users are children.
The team in UTC are multidisciplinary Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Emergency Practitioners working along side General Practitioners, Emergency Consultants and a team of Registered Nurses, Associate Nurses and Healthcare Support workers.
The team are diverse in their experience and skills that they can share with you. Amongst our team we have qualified paramedics and both adult and children's nurses practising in an advanced capacity. Development of staff is a key focus for us and this is achieved with the support and guidance from our in house dedicated practise based educator
