Job summary

ACAD day surgery in Central Middlesex Hospital with Colorectal, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic and General Surgery patients who undergo elective surgery. ACAD day surgery has dedicated areas for male and female patients for day surgery as well as elective admissions patients. Male area got 15 trolley spaces and Female area has got 14 trolley spaces. We are also taking care of pre and postoperative Ophthalmology patients.This post holder must be able to demonstrate motivation and adaptability to the fast pace of a day care unit.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a nurse to further develop their existing day surgical and management skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident nurse with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills. We will offer sufficient support and necessary development opportunities.

The applicant will lead a team of Staff nurses and Health care Assistants. You will be responsible for their appraisals and assisting with their personal and professional development. You will take charge of the unit in the absence of the ward manager.

This post holder must be able to demonstrate existing Day surgical experience/competencies and to be able to deliver high stand of care.
