Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is looking for an exciting challenge? Are you ready to establish and build a fundraising function which will source and develop funding streams to support our Berkshire Healthcare charity?

As a Fundraising Manager, you will work strategically with the Head of Innovation and connected collaborative leads to shape a future fundraising strategy and lead on fundraising for Berkshire Healthcare, hitting objectives, running campaigns, and building on engagement and communications.

The fundraising department is small, and this is a new opportunity for someone with flexibility who will throw themselves into growing, developing and clearly defining the role for Berkshire Healthcare. We are looking for a pro-active, motivated, enthusiastic individual who is an exceptional communicator and can build strong internal and external relationships.

The role is offered as hybrid working and is full time, flexibility around how the hours are delivered can be discussed however part time hours can not be considered for this role typically in the early stages of it being developed.

This role would ideally suit someone with experience in a fundraising setting, however, out of sector applications are welcomed if a strong clear understanding of the requirements can be demonstrated.

Main duties of the job

  • Direct involvement for Creating a three-year fundraising strategy to increase and provide sustainable charitable income.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial and supporter records are maintained and accessible.
  • Prepare and be accountable for the delivery of fundraising activity operational plans, reviewing and revising to maximise return on investment.
  • Deliver (or exceed) agreed income targets and overall strategy objectives.
  • Ensure relevant systems are in place to allow for seamless online and offline donations
  • Develop, manage and lead fundraising events, initiatives and activities to encourage donations (Staff, patients, service users, small businesses, corporate)
  • Ensure all materials produced to support the charity are done so in line with our approved tone of voice and on the correct branding.
  • Create film, photography, icons, gifs etc to support fundraising activities.

  • Evidence of Leadership and Management development qualification
  • Degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations or business administration


Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience in a fundraising role or comparable role, with demonstrable knowledge of fundraising activities
  • Experience of creating engaging and compelling communication content for various audiences and purposes
  • Demonstrates experience of producing written business or finance reports
  • Demonstrates experience of hitting key performance targets/objectives
  • Strong project management experience with an ability to manage and deliver engagement events and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of managing marketing campaigns across different channels or working with marketing and communications to deliver campaigns across different channels .
  • Experience of undertaking joint activities, projects or campaigns with the voluntary sector


Desirable

  • Experience of managing a budget
  • Experience of fundraising directly from the public
  • Demonstrates evidence of having successfully raised revenue for a department or organisation.


Knowledge, skills and abilities

Essential

  • Knowledge of non-profit governance structure
  • Demonstrates a talent for building relationships
  • Understanding of the legalities of the fundraising sector
  • Track record of securing funds from donors or equivalent (securing bids)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines under own initiative
  • Advanced IT skills , Including Microsoft Office , databases and digital platforms
  • Confident in networking and ability to flex approach to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to synthesise complex information into simple compelling messages.
  • Able to demonstrate skills to fundraise and knowledge to use funds for what they were intended.


Desirable

  • Strong skills in producing evaluations, reporting on objectives and interpreting analysis and insights.
