BSMHT is seeking an enthusiastic and committed substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to work in our Addictions treatment service, based in Wolverhampton. The contract is up to 10 PAs, however part-time/job share option is available.
This is a large integrated addiction treatment service delivered in partnership with (the voluntary sector service). The service combines the elements of education, prevention, treatment and recovery within substance misuse treatment pathways. This includes those entering the service via the criminal justice system.

Main duties of the job
You will have a keen interest in addiction psychiatry and managing comorbidity. You will join our specialist community team treating individuals with substance misuse and mental health problems.You will provide clinical leadership to a well-established multidisciplinary team that aspires to provide excellent bespoke care to enable our patients to fulfil their recovery goals and work towards discharge. Clinical duties include patient assessment / reviews, leading MDT meetings and optimizing treatment pathways.

- oFull GMC registration with a licence to practice
- oApproved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983
- oMRCPsych or equivalent
- oObtained inclusion on the Specialist Register or within six months of the award of a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in General Adult Psychiatry or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register
- oCommitment to personal programme of Continuing Professional Development
- oSubstantial experience of assessing and treating patients in acute & community psychiatry settings
- oExperience of teaching and training at an undergraduate/postgraduate level
- oEvidence of effective multidisciplinary team involvement
- oExperience in working with diverse communities.

- oExperience of stakeholder engagement in service delivery
- oExperience of contributing to or completion of a service improvement project
- oExperience in risk management.
- oCompleted clinically relevant audit projects
