Main duties of the job

This is a fantastic opportunity for a GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician with a special interest in mental health, to join our dynamic and innovative pharmacy team. The pharmacy department is currently undergoing significant developments through new investments, including the implementation of the EPMA and new innovative clinical roles to improve medicines optimisation.

There will be plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and career with us, as we are dedicated to providing a clear pathway for Pharmacy Technicians.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be organised, motivated, have excellent communication and people skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Duties will include:
  • Providing all aspects of Medicines Optimisation to inpatient wards and community mental health teams across our two sites Highgate Mental Health Centre and St. Pancras Hospital.
  • Effectively acting as a supervising co-ordinator in the dispensary Responsible for ensuring medication is labelled, dispensed, checked and delivered efficiently.
  • Involvement in organising prescriptions and medication for clozapine clinics.
  • Acting as a Practice Supervisor for Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration Pharmacists and Apprentice Pharmacy Assistants.

Pharmacy Technician qualifications

Essential

  • Medicines Management Accreditation
  • Accredited Checking Accreditation


Desirable

  • Supervisory/Training experience
  • Practice Supervisor Course

  • Ward based Hospital experience

  • Mental Health Experience
  • Liaison within MDT
