Job summary

We currently have a vacancy for a Band 6 physiotherapist, working in rotations including ITU, Respiratory and General Medical wards on a permanent basis. Successful candidates will participate in the on-call service and be active in delivering the on-call training programme.The therapies department is forward thinking with new projects and has monthly CPD (continuing professional development) sessions for the whole of therapies. Each rotation has its own in-service training sessions and competencies.This post is suitable for experienced Band 5 physiotherapists or current Band 6's with a passion for respiratory care. Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients in specialist area
  • To work across the trust in a range of ward settings, specialist out-patient departments and clinics
  • To undertake the advanced physiotherapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions
  • To hold responsibility for own caseload and to be responsible for a particular specialist service working without supervision
  • To provide supervision in the form of regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and appraisals
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner
  • To participate in emergency on-call and weekend rotas
  • To deputise for the Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Team Leader.
