Working closely with the Medical Workforce Manager, the post holder will ensure the provision of a comprehensive, professional, high quality and cost effective recruitment service to support the recruitment of all SAS & Non-training grade medics.
The post holder will lead the administration of processes and procedures within the Medical recruitment function, ensuring robust auditing processes are in place to achieve compliance with and adherence to employment legislation, guidance and best practice. The post holder will lead on the administration of Trust-wide recruitment initiatives related to Medics.
The post holder will be responsible for the oversight and allocation of work from the Trac Recruitment system, ensuring that applicants are processed in line with department key performance indicators and corrective action taken where issues are identified.

The successful candidate will be able to define an end to end medical resourcing service and support in monitoring and managing the performance of the Medical Workforce Officers. This will also include ensuring quality standards are met and the effective prioritisation of completion of work is upheld. You will have knowledge of medical contracts and the ability to conduct regular audits of recruitment activities to ensure best practice is maintained across compliance & pre-employment checks. You will also work closely with the Medical Workforce Programme Manager and support in key activities across the trust and aid in the development of the wider Medical Workforce Programme.

Job responsibilities
Monitor and manage the performance of the Medical Workforce Officers to ensure a quality end to end recruitment administration service is delivered in line with Trust standards. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the effective prioritisation and completion of work within the team in accordance with recruitment demands. Authorise contracts of employment where required and conduct regular audits of recruitment activities to ensure quality standards are maintained and compliance with employment legislation and best practice guidance (e.g. NHS Employers Pre-Employment Checks). Act as specialist advisor for right to work queries and checking processes for all medical recruitment, leading the administration of certificates of sponsorship and overseeing the process of ongoing right to work checks on existing employees. Ensure the maintenance of Electronic Staff Records (ESR) and Trac systems with all information connected to recruitment processes and work with the Medical Workforce Programme Manager to lead the introduction of new processes in line with systems and service developments. Support the Medical Workforce Manager & Medical Workforce Advisor - Recruitment in proactively working with Trust managers to ensure a pro-active recruitment service is provided at all times, providing specialist advice and guidance on recruitment processes within the Trust. Manage an active establishment for the identification of Non-training grade and SAS posts including any rotational arrangements. Manage and encourage proactive recruitment by effective planning of a robust recruitment programme for regular rotational placements, and ensure there is consultant engagement throughout the process. Act as the escalation contact for the investigation and resolution of queries and complaints received from recruiting managers and applicants, ensuring the development and implementation of actions to prevent any reoccurrence. Actively collate, present and analyse data on recruitment activity and identify areas for improvement and present findings to Medical Workforce Programme Manager.
General
Undertake any project work as directed, e.g. obtaining information from various sources, collation and reporting of data, assisting in the production of reports and other documents. Line manage the Medical Workforce Officers including completion of appraisals, monitoring of sickness absence and coordination of annual leave. Deputise for the Medical Workforce Programme Manager, during times of annual leave or long-term sickness absence. Provide general assistance in the Medical Workforce Department, particularly in the absence of other staff, to ensure the smooth running of the department at all times. Maintain an up to date knowledge of recruitment related law. Any other duties deemed to be within the capability of the role.
