We are looking for an innovative and highly motivated occupational therapist for this part-time permanent post. The role will be split between Burns and Plastics inpatients and Hand Therapy outpatients providing you with the opportunity to be part of not one but TWO highly specialist and integrated teams!
The part time (30 hours) permanent role will be split between Burns and Plastics (inpatients) and Hand Therapy teams as we work closely together.
We will offer you a supportive work environment where you can develop your specialist skills and knowledge and play a key role in the delivery of high quality health care. There are multiple opportunities for personal and professional development, both within the team and at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
Burns and Plastics is a specialist service taking trauma and elective cases from the Northwest region. The ward also includes orthopaedic, vascular/surgical patients and your caseload will reflect this.
You will work alongside a physiotherapist and the wider MDT to provide therapy assessments and treatment plans to facilitate complex and timely discharge. You will develop skills in the manufacture and application of thermoplastic and soft splinting for burns and plastics trauma cases splinting is a key requirement of this role and although experience is preferred, it is not essential and you will be supported to develop these skills.
You will have the opportunity to network with other therapists through attendance at regional burns meetings. This will support you with service development at both regional and local level.
If this has not sparked your interest enough, this role also includes working within a highly skilled hand therapy team. Experience is preferredbut not essentialas this is a highly specialised role.
