Job summary

The post holder will provide a Dietetic service for an All Age Eating Disorder service.

Duties will include running outpatient clinics and ward visits as well as offering consultation support with care coordinators, joining MDT discussions and helping to support both children and young people who are experiencing an eating disorder. This will be for both new patient referrals and following up patients already on the caseload.

Main duties of the job

Act as part of the Eating disorder team for the delivery of a comprehensive service to Powys. Work within the British Dietetic Association Professional Code of Conduct and Professional Standards of Practice, and the HCPC Code of Conduct.

Responsible for the continued delivery of an evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service. This will include outpatient clinics, ward visits, nursing home visits and telephone calls.

Prioritise patients in caseload and signpost as appropriate to other specialist services and/or agencies for ongoing treatment.

Work autonomously to provide an expert nutrition advice service to patients, their carers and families and to other healthcare professional colleagues and those from other agencies. This may be through individual Work appropriately within a framework of behavioural approaches and techniques including persuasive, motivational and negotiation to implement highly complex dietetic packages of care.

Keep and maintain records in accordance with HCPC, BDA and PTHB standards.

Maintain strict confidentiality and work within relevant governance frameworks.
