We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about delivering specialist clinical services to meet the needs of individuals who have complex substance use issues throughout their pregnancy.
The post holder will need to be motivated to initiate service developments, provide training to upskill nursing/medical staff and develop links with midwifery, CAMHS and perinatal services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake clinical assessments, liaise with nursing/medical teams and plan appropriate care in relation to the patients substance use.
Knowledge and experience in addictions services will be essential as the post holder will be representing this service and providing expert advice to other professionals.
This role requires work with multiple professional groups and wide networks as well as an educational element, communication/presentation skills will be key to successfully achieving this.
The post holder will work across the 2 CDAT teams to provide specialist advice, support, consultation and training to the wider MDT and manage 2 Band 6 substance use pregnancy nurses in CDAT.
You will be a highly experienced and qualified nurse with previous experience of working with a range of drug and alcohol issues, willing to work with individuals with substance use problems. You will possess the relevant skills and attributes to facilitate service user engagement in the service. You must have a strong commitment to partnership working, building networks and able to work sensitively within a culturally diverse environment.
