We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic lead developer to work within the Software Development Team. We are looking for a self-starting individual with the ability to deal with accelerated learning and build high quality software within an agile environment.
As a member of the dynamic and innovative Informatics Department, you will work with colleagues in the Software Development Team supporting the delivery of projects that form part of the digital platform.
The role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience and provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders from varying professions across the health board. If you are looking for a new challenge in a prosperous department then this role is for you.

Main duties of the job
- Supervision of a team of developers on a day-to-day basis and coordinate their activities
- Provide technical and professional mentorship and support to the team
- Coordinate with other Lead Software Developers to allocate resource across teams
- Leading, planning and managing the software development in multiple, concurrent complex applications
- Provide technical leadership and drive innovation in the software team
- Develop applications, services and library code using a suitable programming language and framework
- Maintain an awareness of new and emerging technologies and make recommendations on appropriate usage
You should have significant and demonstrable experience in the following areas:
- Application development using C# within the .NET framework using .Net Core, ASP.Net Web API and MVC.
- TSQL and application development using Microsoft SQL Server
- Proven application and understanding of OOP and SOLID principles
- HL7 V2 messaging standards
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
- FHIR messaging standards
- Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps
- Front-end design (UI/UX)
- Mobile development
- Experience of working in an Agile environment
- .Net Core Identity
- Entity Framework and LINQ
- Windows Service development
