We are looking for enthusiastic, patient focused, progressive Radiographers who are good team players and are able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, and communication skills who wish to work at a centre specialising in trauma, neurosciences and stroke services
Radiology at Salford Royal is entering an exciting time with new multiple scanner installations and expanding services.
We have 3 new MR scanners (3T Philips Elition, and two 1.5T Philips Ambition scanners) to add to our existing 1.5T Siemens and 1.5T GE scanner. The GE is due to be uplifted to a GE Artist with air coils and accelerator technology later this year. A further Philips 1.5T Ambition will open in Autumn 2023 when the Greater Manchester Major trauma Hospital (GMMTH) opens. These scanners are complemented by a new Sectra PACs system
Radiology at Salford has an establishment of advanced practice radiographers, which we would hope will be built upon to offer career advancement
You should be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and take part in the MR on-call service.
Main duties of the job
As part of our team, you will gain vast experience in imaging patients from a variety of specialities including, stroke, major trauma, neurosciences, and general surgery.
MR at Salford, part of the NCA, offers scanning to patients with implants such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, spinal stimulators, and patients who require general anaesthesia for MR. This will require you to have excellent team working skills, as you will be working closely with other departmental teams in delivering this service. You will rotate through all of our scanners, managing a wide array of acute and general examinations.
As an experienced MR radiographer, you will be involved with training of new staff and visiting students.
You will need to demonstrate that you are an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated individual, who works well in a team and can work independently.
MR at Salford offers a 24 hour service, 7 days a week, so you will be expected to work flexibly across a 7 day week. Core hours are 8am-8pm with participation in the overnight on-call service.
