An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Occupational Therapist in BHR Falls Service.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist with an interest in Falls for this exciting opportunity to work as part of the multidisciplinary team in the BHR Falls team.

The service is a forward-thinking and innovative service that is community based and works in a fully integrated way, with geriatricians , occupational therapists, nurses and community matrons all working side by side to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to the care of people accessing our service.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside and attend training with nursing and therapy colleagues within a large multi disciplinary team, offering valued, challenging and rewarding role within the team.

You will be expected to carry out clinical visits to patients in their own homes and care homes delivering physiotherapy interventions to the population.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant must be flexible, a good team worker, used to working under pressure, have excellent interpersonal and IT skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and other members of the MDT.

You will be supported with continuing professional development .

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions as an autonomous practitioner usingindependence of judgementBeing part of the Falls Prevention Service ensuring that physiotherapy input is integral tothe patients overall care plan and patient goal setting alongside other healthcareprofessionals.Provide leadership of junior, support and rehab assistant staff through supervision,training and appraisal

Ensuring a high quality of service delivery and evidence based treatment.Improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources and appropriateand timely physiotherapy interventions.Work in accordance with guidance set out in national and local guidance e.g. The NHS

Qualifications

Essential

• OT Degree or Equivalent
• HCPC regisration

Experience

Essential

• Significant Expereince Working as an OT in Mental Health

Desirable

• Experience Working as an OT in Forensic Mental Health
