We are looking for new talent in our People Operations service at UHNM. If you have achieved the L5 Diploma in Human Resources Management and have demonstrable experience working in Human Resources, then our People Advisor role is for you.
However, if you have either the qualification or the experience, but not both, our People Officer role is available too. If appointed to People Officer, we will work with you on a development plan to reach People Advisor.
This key role in the People Directorate provides comprehensive, compassionate and professional HR support to clinical and non-clinical areas. You will be part of a great team improving the working lives of the people who deliver care to our patients.
We have 3 vacancies as follows:
- Vacancy A - Divisionally based in our Medicine and Urgent Care Division, for 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis
- Vacancy B - Divisionally based in our Surgical Division for 15 hours per week on a permanent basis
- Vacancy C - Corporately based in our Employee Relations Team for 37.5 hours per week and fixed term to cover maternity leave until 31/03/2024 or the date the post holder returns to work if that is sooner
Please indicate in your personal statement which vacancy you are applying for.
Main duties of the job
You will deliver advice and guidance in line with legislation, UHNM policies, and NHS terms and conditions on a wide range of issues, including dignity at work, resolution, disciplinary, performance and attendance management.
Divisionally based People Advisors will coach managers through formal sickness, resolution, conduct and capability processes. You will help clinical teams understand the people issues in their Divisions by producing reports using information from the Trust systems. You will work closely with the People Business Partner to have an understanding of people trends in Divisions.
Corporately based People Advisors will contribute to service improvement by auditing and reviewing ER cases and people processes to ensure consistency and continuous improvement, developing standard procedures and developing learning and training materials.
The successful candidates for all roles will be people focussed, analytical in mindset and proactive in problem solving. You will be able to manage your own workload, apply compassion, tact and diplomacy to difficult situations and know when to escalate issues outside your scope of practice . With good ICT skills, you will be able to use Microsoft Office and bespoke systems.
People Advisors are autonomous operators with the ability to lead their own caseload. People Officers will support these processes and work towards autonomous practice.
